Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University Hosts British Council IELTS Test

AMMAN - March 14, 2016 - As part of the continuous cooperation between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and the British Council, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination was hosted at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University (TAGIUNI) with the participation of around 150 candidates.

IELTS, which is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge English Language Assessment, has played a key role in language testing for immigration purposes throughout its 25 year history and is recognised by more than 9,000 organisations around the world including universities and employers in many countries, as well as by professional bodies, immigration authorities and other government agencies. More than 2.5 million IELTS tests were taken in 2015 in more than 140 countries.

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a test that measures the language proficiency of people who want to study or work in environments where English is used as a language of communication. 
HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization said: "Our cooperation with the British Council is a continuous effort as we both support English language as a necessity for each person. Our premises are equipped with the latest facilities and equipment to fit the needs of each entity."

Mrs Ameera Manna’a – Country Examinations Manager of the British Council Jordan advised “Our relationship with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization goes back to many years where we enjoy a very strong partnership through sharing similar vision and objectives to provide people with access to educational opportunities and help hundreds of young Jordanians to achieve their study and career aspirations.”

In 2013, the British Council and TAGIUNI signed a cooperation agreement to promote world-class online education and before it both parties signed agreement facilitating TAGIUNI as a certified testing center for the British Council’s Aptis English language test.
