Abu-Ghazaleh: The Application of Quality Standards Enhances Education in Accordance with the Rapid Developments of Today’s Knowledge Society

AMMAN – The Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education (AROQA), chaired by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, held a workshop at Al-Radwan Schools on ‘Quality of Education in Schools,’ as part of the Organization’s accreditation process being carried out at the school. 

The workshop comes as a preparation for a Self-Evaluation report on accreditation standards related to governance, teaching and learning, innovation, resources and infrastructure, communication, documentation and continuous improvement. These standards are measured by a set of more than 130 indicators, all for the purpose of acquiring the educational accreditation provided by AROQA. 

HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh indicated, “The application of quality standards and academic accreditation contributes to raising educational standards through quality control and monitoring,” adding, “This falls in line with rapid educational developments in today’s knowledge-based society, and ultimately will improve educational governance that support continuous improvement efforts.”

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said, “Keeping up with educational development requires the application of the latest technologies of teaching and learning. In fact educational programs are meant to offer opportunities for students to acquire knowledge and skills; and so using a comprehensive evaluation system that measures the improvement and development progress will definitely lead to better educational outcomes.” He added, “The availability of technical resources is essential to ensure support, continuous improvement and higher quality of the educational process.”  

Mr. Munther Al Zamaily, the commissioned partner at Al Radwan Schools, congratulated HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for being honored by His Majesty King Abdullah II through the Order of Independence of the First Class, for his distinguished achievements and contributions to the economy, education and technical fields.  Mr. Al Zamaily added that every Jordanian and Arab can be proud of TAG-Org on a global scale. 

Mr. Al Zamaily said, “Since its establishment, over 19 years ago, Al Radwan Schools have constantly worked on continuous improvement of Education, and capacity building of students, especially in strengthening their intellectual and national awareness, promoting constructive dialogue and acceptance of other’s opinions.” He added, “This helps to instill a sense of responsibility among students and improve their communication and interactivity skills with the local community, with increased participation in educational, creative arts, and sports-related competitions.” 

An Agreement was signed between Al Radwan Schools and AROQA to follow-up on the application of quality standards that cover different aspects of excellence. This reflects the efforts and interest of Al Radwan School’s in maintaining and improving its educational quality. 

AROQA includes more than 80 members from Arab, educational institutions, and works to provide quality services and accreditation. It holds its annual meetings and specialized workshops on ‘Quality in Education’, as well as issuing its peer-reviewed and indexed Arab journal of quality in education. AROQA has worked with a number of educational institutions on raising the level of education through the application of Quality systems, accreditation processes, and capacity building programs.

The Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education (AROQA) is an independent non-profit organization, established in Belgium in July 2007, with the fundamental objective of raising the quality of education in the Arab world. AROQA is honorary chaired by His Excellency, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, chaired and presided over by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, the founder of AROQA.
