Abu-Ghazaleh Lectures at the University of Al Nahrain in Baghdad and Emphasizes the Importance of Quality in Education

AMMAN - As the Head of the Arab Organization for Quality Control in Education, Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh stressed the importance of adhering to quality standards in education. As president of the Arab Organization for Research and Education Networks, he also stressed the importance of scientific research.

The statements were made during a seminar organized by the University of Al Nahrain in Baghdad entitled "Quality in education”.

Dr. Abu Ghazaleh was accompanied by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Iraq Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Issa, the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Safia Al-Suhail and His Excellency Dr. Jawad Al Anani, former Deputy Prime Minister of Jordan and twenty managers of  Talal Abu-Ghazaleh’s Group in various activities.

During the seminar, which was attended by Dr. Jawad Al Anani, Dr. Hamed Khalaf, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Counselors at the Prime Minister's Office and Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein, President of Baghdad University, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh was briefed on the status of education at the University, which is one of the most prominent universities in Iraq.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh addressed the three-point literacy project under the umbrella of the League of Arab States, as well as the accomplishments achieved to date by the group in the areas of language literacy, digital literacy and cultural literacy.

On the other hand, Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh met with Dr. Ali Al-Marzouqi, Director General of the Department of Private Education at the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The two sides agreed to sign cooperation agreements in the fields of training, capacity building and quality control of education with universities and private colleges, according to the needs and desire of each institution. Iraq has 20 private universities and 50  University colleges.

The two sides discussed means of cooperation to build a national network for research and education through research and education networks in Iraq, in addition to the service of educational institutions in the field of quality education through the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance of Education.

For his part, Al-Marzouqi expressed his interest in the services of the Group as well as its training and educational programs in general, especially the quality of education programs and its ISO standards, scientific research, the National Network for Scientific Research and Education (NREN), as well as the English language program (Cambridge) for reducing costs of scholarships.

The two sides discussed ways in which universities and colleges can benefit from the expertise and training programs of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Training Academy, as well as cooperation with the aim of including the IACPA in the University study programs.

Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Group invited the educational institutions to participate in the annual conferences of the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education, the Arab States Research and Education Network and the International Arab Society of Certified Accountants.
