Faculty of Foreign Languages Celebrates International Spanish Language Day

AMMAN - The Spanish language students at the Faculty of Foreign Languages organized a varied program of cultural activities and events with a Spanish flavor on the occasion of the Spanish Language Day according to University of Jordan press release.

The program, which was inaugurated by the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Prof. Zahra Awad comes within a series of extracurricular activities held by the Department to give students the opportunity to apply newly acquired knowledge during their studies, a thing that would contribute to the promotion of their academic level.

The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Zahra Awad said the activities are an essential part in the development of students' language skills, as it’s hard to separate a language from its culture and civilization.

The Faculty is working hard to equip students with cultural interaction skills with other civilizations to enable university generation of openness to the international community and communicate using international living languages, Awad added.

From his part, the Head of the Spanish-language Section displayed excerpts about the march of the Section, founded in 2000, and comprises more than 400 students, expressing pride in the academic level of students and their enthusiasm.

The event program included a variety of artistic and cultural performances, short funny comedy skits, Spanish songs, and a video included spontaneous excerpts of student and highlighted popular words among themselves, in addition to other paragraphs.
