JERASH – HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh patronized the graduation ceremony of the 20th batch of Jerash University held at the Jerash’s Roman amphitheater.

The ceremony was attended by President of Jerash University, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Bani Hani, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the University, members of the Board of Trustees, Chair of the Board of Directors, Deans, faculty members, administrators, and the families of 500 graduates – that exceeded 10,000, all but standing, and over 2,000 attending from outside the amphitheater.

In his speech, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed that education opens doors to achievement, development, and progress. He addressed the graduates saying, "Today represents a transitional point on to a new stage of your lives; previously, in your academic years, you used to study then sit to pass exams, however, in your future practical life, you will constantly go through life’s exams, through which you will learn lessons and achieve success.”

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh added, “Knowledge is like a small island surrounded by an ocean of ignorance. The more you learn, the wider the shoreline becomes and you become more surrounded by ignorance, and you end up realizing how much more there is to learn about.” He also stressed that success can only be reached if you have a mission you strive to achieve; and your mission should be to serve this country under the leadership of his Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein.

He clarified that waiting for opportunities does not lead to success; and that opportunities must be made, not found, adding, ''This country enjoys peace and security; therefore it provides the best opportunities that can be found." Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh concluded his speech congratulating the graduates and their families.

For his part, Dean of Student Affair, Dr. Abdul Mahdi Al Dmour congratulated the graduates and expressed gratitude to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for patronizing the ceremony. He pointed out of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh's clear imprint in the fields of economy, accounting, knowledge, law, and Intellectual Property, which makes him in fact worthy of the title "The Godfather of Arab Accounting".

He noted that Jerash University is always keen to improve the quality of education it provides in every field, and strives to achieve the highest quality standards.

On behalf of the graduates, Obaida Al Momani expressed gratitude to the University for equipping students with science and knowledge, and for providing the best education tools through partnerships with various distinguished bodies.

At the end of the ceremony, graduates received certificates from the ceremony’s Patron, and outstanding graduates were given commemorative certificates of recognition. Shields were exchanged between the University and Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh.
