Webometrics Ranks UJ Among the World’s Top Universities

AMMAN - The recently released July 2017 edition of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities has placed the University of Jordan (UJ) in the top 5% of universities worldwide among the 27,764 listed universities.
 
UJ continued to top Jordanian universities, and ranked 10th out of 987 Arab universities, a press release by the University stated.
 
Moreover, UJ ranked 41th in the world and first in the Middle East and the Arab world in terms of the size of its website and the content it provides.
 
The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain.
The Lab is devoted to the quantitative analysis of the Internet and Web contents especially those related to the processes of generation and scholarly communication of scientific knowledge.
 
The ranking relies on four indicators: impact, presence, openness and excellence.
