Leading Global Education Show Kicks Off in Turkey

ISTANBUL – GESS Turkey kicks off its second edition with a strong contingent of local and international education professionals expected to attend the premier global educational show and conference at the Wow Istanbul Convention Center.

Scheduled over three days from 25-27 October, GESS Turkey gathers renowned leading experts who, in over 50 workshops and presentations, will share their insights on the latest teaching innovations as well as education-focused technological advancements aimed at enhancing the delivery of learning outcomes in Turkish schools.

“We are delighted to support Turkey’s continuing progress as an international education hub, by providing education professionals access to the latest developments to teaching techniques and methods shared by respected experts in the field of education, technology and innovation; as well as to local and international brands supplying a wide range of products and solutions that can boost quality education quality standards,” said Seda Bozkurt, Assistant General Manager, Tarsus Turkey, organizers of GESS Turkey, part of the global series of GESS shows that takes place in key education hotspots such as the UAE, Indonesia and Mexico.

Some of Turkey’s most important education officials are expected to grace the opening ceremony of the event, led by Mr. Levent Yazıcı, Director of National Educational of İstanbul as well as Mr. Reha Denemeç, Deputy Minister of T.C. Ministry of National Education.

Among the highlights of the conference agenda at the Future Learning Stage include education best practices from Turkey’s progressive schools, such as Khan Academy with Director Alp Köksal sharing highlights of its digital reform initiatives and how teachers can leverage technological advancements for better performance; while TED Ankara College Foundation Private Schools explores looks at how learning environments are shaping and redefining the learning experience through presentations by Mehmet Burak TAŞTI, Education Technologist; and Boran ÖZER, Visual Design Specialist. 

At the Innovation Stage, which features a series of dynamic workshops showcasing advances in products, techniques and classroom outcomes for teachers, education professionals will benefit from engaging talks on how virtual and augmented realities can help enrich the classroom experience for both teachers and students; as well as using games and coding skills that can help teachers in getting students more engaged in their studies.

Back by popular demand, David Hodgson, master NLP practitioner, returns to the Neuroscience in Education stage to share the latest international expertise and research to help educators learn how to boost, motivate and inspire their students to achieve their best. 

In addition to the conference, GESS Turkey will be showcasing the latest products and solutions from leading local and international companies to help school owners and administrators enhance their education infrastructure as well as provide teachers with aides and tools to help them achieve better performance.
