Abu-Ghazaleh Commends Palestinian Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research for Patronizing Training Workshop

RAMALLAH - The Palestinian Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, HE Prof. Mahmoud Abu Mowais, inaugurated the training workshop on scientific research and publishing organized by the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education (AROQA) chaired by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, in collaboration with the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education.

The training workshop is part of a series of programs which AROQA will be holding for the benefit of Palestinian Ministry staff and lecturers in accordance with an agreement signed by the two parties last December. 

During the opening ceremony, Dr. Abu Mowais affirmed that researchers are expected to find good remedies for national problems and challenges at technical, health and agricultural development levels to achieve sustainable development goals.

He also expressed the Ministry’s readiness to provide an appropriate environment for researchers to introduce quality research and provide local and global training to develop scientific research methodologies and outcomes.
Dr. Abu Mowais extended his appreciation to AROQA, its Chairman Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh and its Executive Director, Dr. Yaser Al Nadi for funding this activity and supporting education in Palestine. 

For his part, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his pride in cooperating with the Ministry, noting that AROQA devotes all its capacities and expertise in the field of capacity building and training to advance the educational level of schools and universities in the Arab countries. He also pointed out that AROQA offers consulting and capacity building services to improve the quality of education in accordance with national and international standards.

Based on AROQA’s training program in Palestine, 50-60 lecturers from 10 Palestinian universities and 30 to 40 employees from the Ministry will receive training on scientific research methods in line with the Ministry’s plan.

Moreover, 2-3 members of the Ministry staff will be nominated to attend AROQA’s “Reviewer of Quality Assurance in Education” course which the Organization will hold next June in Jordan. 

It is noteworthy to mention that the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education (AROQA) is an international non-profit organization founded in 2007. Its main objective is to promote the quality of higher education in general, with a particular focus placed on the Arab world.
