Abu-Ghazaleh Stresses the Need for Radical Changes in Academic Disciplines in Universities

AMMAN – HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), participated in the 1st Forum for Heads of Higher Education Institutions of Jordan entitled ‘Future of Higher Education Up to 2030 in the Era of the 4th Digital Revolution’.

During his keynote speech at the Forum, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed the urgent need for radical change in the academic tracks at universities, pointing out the need to keep up with rapid changes and developments in the Knowledge Era.   

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh pointed out that Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robots, Bioinformatics, Nanotechnology, Genetics among others are the sciences of future. 

During the event, participants discussed visions and perceptions for a developed higher education that produces distinguished graduates at local regional and global levels, in addition to tackling a number of creative solutions related to challenges facing higher education in Jordan.  The Forum, attended by the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof. Walid Al Maani, on behalf of the Prime Minster, was organized by JO Academy in cooperation with ‘Keep An Eye on the Future’ initiative with a number of representatives of public and private universities, academies, colleges and national institutions as well as a host of university professors in attendance. 

Furthermore, the Forum shed light on the future challenges faced by educational institutions and suggested several creative solutions for the next ten years, highlighting the importance of reducing the gap between education outputs and labor market needs underlining the importance of changing the community culture concerning current and future university disciplines. 

The Forum was attended by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University College for Innovation (TAGUCI), a first of its kind university college of business and information technology in Jordan specialized in the development of creativity and innovation. In addition to the participation of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Academy which provides comprehensive and professional training courses in more than 20 fields through more than 500 training programs.

JO Academy is the first e-learning platform for secondary school students in Jordan and Palestine. The ‘Keep Your Eye on the Future’ initiative is the first initiative to introduce students to the disciplines and educational options.
