ADU Once Again Ranked Among World’s Top 150 Under 50 Universities

ABU DHABI - ABU DHABI University (ADU) announced in a press release that it has achieved another academic milestone adding to its repertoire of accolades despite being a young institution established only17 years ago. ADU has built a comprehensive wide-ranging portfolio of programs through setting new standards of excellence in the quality and relevance of its education and research.

Commenting on the significant achievement, Prof. Phillip Hamil, Interim Provost, said: "It gives us great pleasure and pride to be named once again among the world’s top 150 universities young universities by the prestigious and internationally recognized QS rankings. This accolade is a clear reflection of ADU’s commitment towards cultivating innovation and dedication to academic excellence, in line with the leadership’s astute vision for the UAE’s institutions to lead on global competitiveness indicators in all fields and make a positive contribution to national and global betterment and prosperity”.

Consistently ranked as a leading educational institution, Abu Dhabi University is committed to the development and delivery of internationally accredited academic programs, fostering a dynamic student life experience and equipping graduates with the skills and resources they need to succeed. This year, ADU launched new programs in laboratory medicine, nutrition and dietetics, molecular and human genetics, industrial engineering, biomedical engineering, cybersecurity engineering and software engineering, giving the University around 50 undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Already with state of the art campuses in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, ADU will open its purpose built Campus in Al Ain in September 2020.

Recently this year, ADU has been ranked for the third year in a row among the top 750 universities in the world, with noteworthy improvements of, 15% in Academic Reputation, 17% in both Faculty Student Ratio and Citations per Faculty, and almost 9% increase in its global percentile position over the previous year, according to the prestigious 2021 QS World University Rankings. 

QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). It is one of only two international university rankings to have received International Ranking Expert Group (IREG) approval and is viewed as one of the most widely read of its kind.
