Abu-Ghazaleh Highlights UNESCO’s Initiative for Development of Teachers’ Capacities in the Arab Region

AMMAN – HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and founder of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), emphasized the importance of the initiative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Regional Bureau for Education (UNESCO Beirut Office) in developing the “Qudrat" Distance Learning e-Platform of teachers' capacities in the Arab region in diversified educational courses.

In a motivating short video addressing teachers, on the ‘Digitization of Education’, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh pointed to the significance of shifting to ICT-based education particularly in light of the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, stressing the necessity to switch over to distance learning through maximum utilization of comprehensive electronic platforms.

Moreover, he expressed his confidence in educators and teachers and their abilities to innovate effective tools and methods to overcome all barriers that obstruct the educational process, referring to the positive impact of digitization on the Arab learners and the educational process as a whole. 

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh also indicated that students of all ages are capable of utilizing ICT tools, calling for investing in students’ capabilities to achieve innovative electronic learning.

The motivating video conducted by the UNESCO Beirut Office selected Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh as the main speaker in recognition of his tireless efforts in mobilizing and inspiring teachers and students alike and his continuous support to pioneering projects that serve local and regional communities.

The video will be posted on the Qudrat Distance Learning Platform of teachers’ capacities in the Arab region in different courses, where the first training course of self-learning on the Platform will discuss topics related to education, distance learning and blended learning.
